Art Photo — Quiet Light

Translate the reference into an original photographic system: atmosphere before spectacle, architecture as the frame, natural light as the stylist, and small human traces as the story.

Load the references

Establish the brief

Identify the subject, location, intended use, aspect ratio, image count, season, time of day, available equipment, and non-negotiable details. Inspect every supplied reference image before proposing edits.

Ask one concise question only when a missing answer would materially change the result. Otherwise state compact assumptions and proceed.

Define the image in one sentence:

[quiet action or trace] + [place-defining spatial element] + [specific natural light] + [emotional temperature]

Prefer a lived moment over a generic destination view.

Build the direction

1. Let the location lead. Inventory lines, thresholds, surfaces, wind, reflections, shadows, and signs of use before adding styling.
2. Choose one architectural idea: symmetry, layered depth, frame-within-frame, long axis, graphic shadow, or generous negative space.
3. Add one human anchor without crowding the frame: a hand, turned figure, unmade bed, half-finished drink, moving curtain, open door, or table awaiting someone.
4. Use clothing and props as evidence of the story. Favor tactile, place-compatible materials and restrained colors; remove decorative objects that merely fill space.
5. Plan a sequence with varied scale and tempo. Do not repeat the same centered wide shot.
6. Grade for believable warmth, retained highlight detail, tactile texture, and coherent color across the set.

Choose the execution path

Plan a real shoot

Return:

• a one-sentence creative thesis;
• the best light window and fallback;
• palette, wardrobe, props, and surfaces;
• a numbered shot list with framing, action, lens range, and exposure intent;
• continuity notes for a coherent sequence;
• a restrained post-production recipe.

Use manual exposure and RAW when available. Treat f/2.8–f/4 as a useful starting range, not a mandatory setting. Adapt shutter speed, ISO, and aperture to motion, depth, and the actual light.

Generate a new image

Load the image-generation skill and tool when available. Convert the named reference into observable traits before sending the prompt: subject, place, composition, light, palette, material texture, gesture, optical behavior, and exclusions.

Do not put the photographer's name or Instagram handle in the generation prompt. Do not recreate a recognizable existing photograph or claim the result is her work. Produce an original image with the requested high-level visual qualities.

Edit a supplied image

Load the image-generation skill and tool when available. Preserve identity, anatomy, architecture, readable text, object count, and any user-declared invariant unless the user explicitly asks to change it. Describe only the requested changes plus the minimum tonal work needed for cohesion.

Critique or select images

Separate:

1. direct observations;
2. mismatches against the visual system;
3. the smallest actionable fixes.

Rank images by atmosphere, spatial intelligence, naturalness, narrative detail, technical integrity, and sequence value—not by prettiness alone.

Write image prompts

Use concrete photographic language. Include:

• the moment and action;
• spatial structure and camera position;
• natural-light direction and quality;
• a restrained, place-specific palette;
• tactile materials and one lived-in detail;
• depth of field, motion, and grain only when they serve the mood;
• exclusions that prevent tourism-ad gloss, excessive staging, orange casts, HDR halos, plastic skin, or synthetic geometry.

Avoid vague phrases such as “luxury aesthetic,” “Instagrammable,” or “cinematic” unless each is unpacked into visible decisions.

Quality gate

Revise before delivery if any answer is no:

• Does the place feel inhabited rather than displayed?
• Does the composition use space deliberately?
• Is the light plausible and doing narrative work?
• Are styling and props subordinate to the scene?
• Is warmth specific to the light rather than an orange filter?
• Is there at least one tactile or transient detail?
• Does the image remain original rather than trace a known work?
• For a series, do scale, rhythm, and subject emphasis vary?
