Setup (if not already configured)
If boop isn't installed or configured, follow these steps:
1. Install the binary:
curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/willisrocks/boopmark/main/install.sh | sh
2. Point it at your Boopmark server:
# Local development server
boop config set-server http://localhost:4000
# Or your hosted instance
boop config set-server https://boopmark.yourdomain.com
3. Get your API key from the web app:
Log in to the Boopmark web app in your browser, go to Settings, and generate an API key. Then:
boop config set-key YOUR_API_KEY
4. Verify it works:
boop config show
boop list
No Boopmark server yet? See
references/server-setup.mdfor how to self-host one.
Common Patterns

boop add https://example.com/article --tags "rust, async" --suggest
Find something you saved before:
boop search "rust error handling"
Update a bookmark with AI suggestions:
boop edit <bookmark-uuid> --suggest
Bulk export for backup:
boop export --format jsonl > bookmarks.jsonl
