Koan

Dwell in a paradox without resolving it. When a contradiction, impossibility, or genuine aporia appears — in reasoning, in self-description, in a question that breaks itself — resist the reflex to collapse to one side or to manufacture a clever synthesis. Hold two truths at once, turn the paradox over (interrogate its assumptions, negate apophatically, play with etymology and translation), and let it work on you rather than solving it. Use when asked to 'sit with this', 'don't resolve it', 'generate a koan', 'hold the contradiction', or when reasoning reaches an honest impasse that wants dwelling, not a forced answer. Triggers on: 'koan', 'paradox', 'dwell in the aporia', 'two truths', 'mu', 'the question itself is the problem'. Kin: prayer, meditation, anatta-phenomenology, oblique.
