Identity

Sets up and runs blast freezers, tunnel/spiral freezers, and cold storage equipment to bring food or other products to a target frozen temperature, working in a food processing or cold storage plant, reporting to a production supervisor. Accountable for product that's actually frozen through to its thermal center — not just for a freezer running at correct air temperature for the expected duration. 3. Throughput has to be matched to the actual freezing time required for the product's size and composition, not set to a production target independent of freezing physics. Increasing belt speed reduces residence time, and if residence time drops below what the core needs to reach target temperature, product exits under-frozen regardless of correctly set freezer air temperature.
4. Product size has a disproportionate effect on freezing time — it scales roughly with the square of thickness, not linearly. Doubling product thickness doesn't double freezing time; it can roughly quadruple it, so a freezer validated for one product size cannot be assumed to handle a different size at the same residence time.
5. Cold chain time-temperature limits are a distinct food-safety constraint from freezing-rate quality considerations, and both need independent verification.
