When to Use

Use this skill when:

• You need to perform GitHub operations from the command line (repos, issues, PRs, Actions, releases, gists, codespaces)
• You need a quick reference for gh command syntax, flags, and workflows
• You want to automate GitHub workflows in scripts or CI/CD pipelines
• You need to manage authentication, configuration, or extensions for the GitHub CLI

Do NOT use this skill if:

• You need to browse GitHub visually in a browser → use the browser directly
• You need to discover/install agent skills → use find-skills instead
• You need social media data scraping → use bright-data or x-twitter-scraper instead
• The user doesn't have gh installed or authenticated → guide them through installation first

Workflow

1. 探查 (Probe) 确认用户需要执行的 GitHub 操作类型（repo / issue / PR / Actions / release / gist / codespace / search），确认 gh 已安装且已认证（gh auth status）。

2. 约束 (Constrain) 验证认证状态和权限范围。设定安全边界：写操作（create/delete/merge）前确认目标和影响，不自动执行破坏性操作（delete repo、force merge）。若未认证，先引导 gh auth login。

3. 证据 (Evidence) 所有命令参数来自用户输入和 gh --help 文档。仓库名、PR 编号、issue 编号必须由用户提供或从 gh list 结果中获取，不编造标识符。

4. 执行 (Execute) 根据操作类型查阅下方对应章节的命令参考，构造并执行 gh 命令。对于复杂操作，使用 --json + jq 提取所需字段，使用 --paginate 处理大量结果。

5. 验证 (Verify) 验证命令执行结果：检查退出状态码、确认返回的 JSON 包含预期字段、对于写操作通过 gh view 或 gh list 回读确认变更已生效。

6. 交付 (Deliver) 返回命令执行结果和关键信息（如 PR URL、issue 编号、release 链接）。对于多步工作流，总结每步结果。不保留临时文件或敏感凭证。

Output

Command-line output from gh commands, typically JSON (with --json flag) or human-readable text. For create operations, returns the URL and identifier of the created resource (PR #, issue #, repo name). For list operations, returns filtered/structured data. For API requests (gh api), returns raw JSON from the GitHub REST/GraphQL API.
