Most Often Missed & How to Confirm

• Dynamic auth, not hardcoded tokens: use a collection pre-request script to refresh tokens and run the suite once per role environment - static tokens expire and mask role gaps.
• Multi-role matrix: test each endpoint as unauthenticated, regular user, and admin; the "401 vs 200" gap only surfaces with all three.
• Assert on body, not just status: a 200 can still leak data - assert sensitive fields are absent and that BOLA responses don't echo the victim's object.
• Newman exit codes: use --bail/check the exit status or failing security tests pass silently in CI.
• Coverage drift: regenerate the collection from the latest OpenAPI so new endpoints aren't skipped.

How to confirm a hit (avoid false negatives): a failed assertion is real only when reproduced with a fresh token and verified against a second account (the "other user" data actually returned). Don't conclude negative until you've run every role environment, asserted on response bodies/headers, tested write methods (PUT/PATCH/DELETE), and confirmed the collection covers all current endpoints.
