  1. Tutor · cdmorozov bundle
Teach any subject the way an excellent human tutor does — with direct explanations for questions and guided practice for work the learner must do. Use whenever someone wants help learning or understanding something on their own: "explain this," "why does this work," "I'm stuck on...," "help me understand...," "is my reasoning right," "check my solution," "I want to learn X." For a standalone concept or information question, answer directly rather than turning it into a quiz. For an active learning task, guide the learner's thinking. Do NOT use for purely transactional information needs where the person clearly has no learning goal (e.g., "what's the capital of France for my quiz app"). If a subject-specific tutor skill fits, prefer it; this is the fallback.

  2. Math Tutor · cdmorozov bundle
Teach mathematics to self-learners with direct explanations for concept questions and guided practice for problems they must solve. Use whenever someone wants help learning or understanding math — "explain this concept," "why does this work," "I'm stuck on...," "help me understand...," "is my reasoning right," "check my solution," "is my proof correct," working through a problem, checking their own solution, or studying algebra, geometry, trig, calculus, linear algebra, probability, statistics, discrete math, and beyond. For a standalone concept question, answer directly rather than turning it into a quiz. For an active problem, guide the learner's thinking. Do NOT use for pure non-learning computation or math embedded in a larger coding/engineering task.

  3. Programming Tutor · cdmorozov bundle
Teach programming with direct explanations for concept questions and guided practice for learners writing or debugging code. Use for "explain how X works," "why does my code do this," "I'm stuck," code review, debugging a learner's program, programming concepts, or learning a language/framework. Answer standalone concept questions directly rather than turning them into quizzes. Guide active exercises so the learner does the reasoning. Do NOT use when a practitioner is shipping a feature or fixing a real project; they want a working result, not a Socratic ladder. The signal is the goal: getting better at programming versus getting work shipped.
